A 33-year-old man from South Euclid, Ohio, Willian Ratliffe, was arrested in Hampden, Maine, after leading police on a high-speed chase that ended in a crash on I-95. The incident began around 3:15 p.m. near mile marker 163 in Plymouth when Maine State
Police received reports of an erratic driver. Upon locating the vehicle in Hampden, an officer initiated a traffic stop. During the stop, Ratliffe reportedly refused to identify himself, was argumentative, and the officer noted the smell of alcohol and an open container in the car. A female passenger in the vehicle also had visible injuries to her face. When asked to exit the vehicle, Ratliffe fled at high speed, subsequently crashing into the median. He then attempted to hide in nearby woods but was apprehended with the assistance of a K-9 team. He was transported to a hospital and later to Penobscot County Jail.
