What's Happening?
The EllaLink submarine cable system has successfully landed a new subsea cable in Nouadhibou, Mauritania, providing the country with a second direct connection to European and international digital hubs. This new branch extends over 670 kilometers from
the main EllaLink trunk and is equipped with advanced optical technology, offering scalable multi-gigabit connectivity. The project is co-funded by the Mauritanian State and the European Union, reinforcing Europe's commitment to secure digital links with Mauritania. The new route is expected to strengthen national digital security and support the development of strategic sectors such as e-government, education, and health.
