Victoria is enhancing its mental health workforce through the Mental Health and Wellbeing Workforce Scholarship Program. Since 2021, over 1,700 workers have benefited from this initiative, which is part of a broader strategy to increase the public mental health workforce by
25% within three years. The program offers financial support for postgraduate studies to registered nurses, mental health nurses, allied health professionals, AOD practitioners, and lived experience workers. Recipients can receive up to $13,000 for courses in allied health, AOD, and lived experience. This initiative aligns with the recommendations from the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System and is supported by a $600 million investment from the Allan Labor Government.
