What's Happening?
G Adventures has launched its first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) during Australia's National Reconciliation Week. The plan, endorsed by Reconciliation Australia, aims to deepen the company's commitment to community tourism and social impact
by supporting Indigenous-owned businesses and creating culturally respectful experiences. The RAP is part of G Adventures' ongoing efforts to engage with First Nations cultures and histories, and to promote reconciliation through travel. The launch event was held at the Indigenous-owned Birrunga Gallery in Brisbane, featuring artwork by Yuwaalaraay/Gamilaraay artist Gordon 'Waraba' Lister.
Why It's Important?
The Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan represents a significant step for G Adventures in formalizing its commitment to reconciliation and responsible tourism. By supporting Indigenous communities and promoting cultural understanding, the company aims to create positive social impact and contribute to a more equitable future. This initiative aligns with broader efforts within the travel industry to prioritize ethical and community-led tourism practices. The RAP also provides a framework for G Adventures to guide its actions across key pillars such as relationships, respect, opportunities, and governance, ensuring long-term meaningful impact.
