Eastern Iowa Community College (EICC) has completed a Workforce Training and Development Survey for 2025, aimed at identifying the most pressing training needs, barriers, and opportunities within the Quad
Cities business community. The survey, presented at the Business and Industry Forum at Scott Community College in Bettendorf, involved 87 local employers. Key findings highlight the demand for practical, people-centered training that equips workers with problem-solving, time management, and leadership skills. Employers also emphasized the importance of digital fluency, including skills in data analytics, robotics, artificial intelligence, and automation. The survey revealed shortages in skilled trades such as welding, process operators, and machinists. EICC Chancellor Bryan Renfro noted that some recommendations from the survey could be implemented in classrooms almost immediately.
