The review also highlighted Qatar Airways as the Platinum Winner airline, with an OTP of 84.42%, and Delta Air Lines as the top performer in North America with 80.9% punctuality.
Why It's Important?
The recognition of Istanbul Airport underscores the importance of operational efficiency in the aviation industry, particularly in a year marked by significant disruptions. The airport's ability to maintain high punctuality rates amidst complex challenges highlights the critical role of infrastructure and management in ensuring passenger satisfaction and cost savings. For airlines, maintaining punctuality is crucial for operational efficiency and customer loyalty, as demonstrated by Qatar Airways and Delta Air Lines. The report also emphasizes the growing significance of Latin American airports, with Santiago Arturo Merino Benitez International leading in punctuality among large airports.
