Syntec Optics, a leading provider of technology products, has announced the launch of the first U.S. advanced optics manufacturing apprenticeship program in Rochester, New York. This initiative, developed in collaboration with the Rochester Technology and Manufacturing Association and Monroe Community College, aims to address the critical need for specialized talent in the optics and photonics manufacturing sector. The program combines intensive on-the-job training, mentorship from experts, and specialized coursework in nanomachining and optics. It is certified and funded by New York State, with the curriculum developed by Chief Engineer Ryan Kromm and former Senior Technician Mark Webster. The program is designed to cultivate highly skilled manufacturing technicians and future leaders in the field.
