Pacific Trade Invest (PTI) Australia has appointed Ben Urquhart as its Senior North Pacific tourism advisor. In this new role, Urquhart will focus on enhancing market readiness for tourism operators across Palau, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic
of the Marshall Islands, Kiribati, and Nauru. His primary objective is to make tourism offerings from these nations more accessible and easier to package, price, and sell through Australian wholesale, retail, and specialist travel channels. The North Pacific region is recognized for its unique attractions, including world-class diving, fishing, surfing, and World War II wreck heritage, alongside rich cultural and natural environments. However, these offerings are currently not widely packaged for the Australian trade. The initiative will involve collaboration with the five national tourism offices, airlines, individual operators, and the Australian travel trade to establish effective booking pathways. This project is supported by the Australian Government through the Australia-Pacific Partnerships for Aviation (P4A) program.
