Vietnam has unveiled a new wheeled self-propelled artillery system, the PTH-130, mounted on a Russian KamAZ-6560 truck chassis. The artillery system, which has been in development for several years, features a cab with added ballistic protection, likely against 7.62 mm rounds. The PTH-130 is based on the M-46 130 mm field gun, designed to target earthworks, enemy artillery, armored vehicles, and mortar positions, with a maximum range of over 27 km using conventional rounds and about 37 km with rocket-assisted projectiles. This system has been displayed at Vietnamese defense events, with plans for a variant dating back to 2017.
