Sakku Innovative Building Solutions, based in Arviat, is set to present at the Kivalliq Trade Show in Rankin Inlet, focusing on its innovative approach to housing. The factory, currently in its fourth year of construction, aims to create 40 jobs for Inuit, including roles such as general laborers and carpenters. The facility is not only a manufacturing site for prefabricated and modular buildings but also serves as a training center for Inuit apprentices. Sakku Investments, a partner in the project, emphasizes the importance of using the facility to provide apprenticeship hours, partnering with Nunavut Arctic College to build capacity in trades for Nunavummiut.
