What's Happening?
Premier Foods is investing £36 million in its UK factory to bring production of the Loyd Grossman brand of cooking sauces in-house. Previously manufactured by a third party, the production will now occur
at the Worksop facility in Nottinghamshire, starting early 2028. The investment will be phased through 2029, aiming to secure long-term supply and enhance efficiency and productivity. Premier Foods is also extending its brand licensing agreement with Sir Loyd Grossman until 2034, with an option for an additional five years. The company reported a 0.7% increase in group revenue to £502.5 million for the first half of the year.
Why It's Important?
This investment marks Premier Foods' largest deployment in 15 years, reflecting its commitment to strengthening supply chain capabilities and supporting growth opportunities. By bringing production in-house, the company aims to improve efficiency and innovation across its cooking sauces brands. The extension of the licensing agreement with Loyd Grossman ensures continued brand association and market presence. The investment aligns with Premier Foods' strategy to respond to consumer demand and enhance its competitive position in the food industry.
