What's Happening?
St. Johns Ship Building has commissioned a new 100-ton Link-Belt rough terrain crane, funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration Small Shipyard Grant Program. The crane, fabricated
in Kentucky, enhances the shipyard's material-handling and modular assembly capabilities, supporting both commercial and government vessel programs.
Why It's Important?
The acquisition of the 100-ton crane represents a significant upgrade for St. Johns Ship Building, potentially increasing its operational efficiency and capacity to handle larger projects. This development supports the shipyard's growth and ability to meet the demands of expanding vessel programs. The investment reflects broader efforts to bolster U.S. maritime infrastructure and competitiveness in shipbuilding.
