What's Happening?
Everllence has secured an order for two 6G70ME-C Mk10.7 engines to be installed in two 159,000 dwt crude oil tankers for the Greek company, Dynacom Tankers. These tankers are currently under construction
at New Times Shipbuilding in Jiangsu, China. The engines, which will be constructed in Korea, represent the first sale of a 70-bore engine from Everllence's latest Mk10.7 platform. The Mk10.7 platform, introduced in November 2023, has seen significant market interest, with 40 engines ordered in 2024 alone. The platform offers engine bore sizes ranging from 50- to 95-bore, and the recent order marks a significant milestone for Everllence as it expands its offerings to include 80- and 95-bore engines.
Why It's Important?
This order signifies a major achievement for Everllence, highlighting the market's positive response to its Mk10.7 engine platform. The platform's design offers competitive fuel efficiency and retrofit flexibility, appealing to various newbuilding segments such as Suezmax tankers, container feeders, and bulk carriers. The successful sale of these engines could enhance Everllence's reputation and market share in the maritime industry, potentially leading to further orders and collaborations. For Dynacom Tankers, the acquisition of these advanced engines could improve operational efficiency and reduce fuel costs, providing a competitive edge in the shipping industry.
What's Next?
Everllence aims to secure further orders for its Mk10.7 engines, particularly the 80- and 95-bore variants. The company anticipates that these engines will soon be integrated into new projects, expanding their presence in the maritime market. As the shipping industry continues to seek more efficient and flexible engine solutions, Everllence's Mk10.7 platform could become a preferred choice for shipowners and builders. The successful implementation of these engines in Dynacom's tankers may also serve as a case study for other potential clients.
