A 33-year-old man from North Fond du Lac was arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of operating while intoxicated (OWI) following a brief vehicle pursuit. The incident began when police observed the man's vehicle weaving between lanes and traveling
off the roadway on Interstate 41 near Sales Road in the Town of Eldorado. Despite police activating emergency lights, the driver failed to yield and continued southbound under the speed limit. The pursuit ended after a deputy performed a PIT maneuver on Winnebago Street near N Pioneer Road, successfully stopping the vehicle. The suspect was taken into custody and is facing a felony charge of fleeing/eluding, suspicion of OWI, and additional traffic citations. Minor damage was reported to both the squad car and the suspect's vehicle, but no injuries occurred.
