What's Happening?
Kimberly-Clark Professional has introduced the ReNew Programme, an evolution of its RightCycle initiative, aimed at enhancing sustainability in waste management. Launched in September 2025, the ReNew Programme offers comprehensive solutions for recycling
hard-to-recycle hygiene products. This initiative builds on the success of the RightCycle Service, which has been operational since 2011, and has diverted significant amounts of waste from landfills. The ReNew Programme is designed to support zero waste targets and ESG commitments by transforming used items into new materials. The programme is co-funded by Kimberly-Clark and its customers, emphasizing a shared responsibility model.
Why It's Important?
The ReNew Programme represents a significant step towards sustainable waste management, particularly in the hygiene sector. By providing a scalable and practical recycling solution, Kimberly-Clark is helping businesses reduce their environmental impact without compromising on hygiene standards. This initiative supports the circular economy by ensuring that used products are recycled into new materials, thus reducing landfill waste and CO2 emissions. The programme's expansion into new markets and its ability to accept competitor products highlight its potential to drive industry-wide progress in sustainability.
What's Next?
Kimberly-Clark plans to transition all customers to the ReNew Programme by January 2026, replacing the RightCycle Service. The company aims to expand the programme into new regions, further supporting businesses in achieving their sustainability goals. As the programme grows, it is expected to foster greater collaboration across the industry, encouraging more companies to adopt circular solutions. The ongoing development of the ReNew Programme will likely influence other sectors to enhance their sustainability efforts, contributing to broader environmental goals.
