What's Happening?
Vertice Hospitality Management has announced the development of The Selvedge, a new luxury inn in Healdsburg, California. This project involves the complete renovation of the historic River Belle Inn,
originally built in 1895. The Selvedge will feature 10 rooms and is set to open in late 2026. The inn draws inspiration from a textile tradition that emphasizes small-batch craftsmanship, reflecting the ethos of its parent establishment, SingleThread, a renowned three-Michelin-starred restaurant and inn. The design, led by Axia Architects and AvroKO, will incorporate elements from the owners' experiences in England, blending Victorian architecture with modern touches. The inn will offer various amenities, including a library, communal spaces, and a fitness center, all designed to provide a unique and personalized guest experience.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of The Selvedge represents a significant addition to the luxury hospitality landscape in Sonoma County, an area known for its wine and culinary tourism. By maintaining the historical integrity of the River Belle Inn while infusing it with modern luxury, Vertice Hospitality Management aims to attract a discerning clientele seeking bespoke experiences. This development is poised to enhance the region's appeal as a premier destination for high-end travelers, potentially boosting local tourism and the economy. The focus on local sourcing and craftsmanship aligns with broader trends in sustainable and responsible tourism, appealing to environmentally conscious consumers.
What's Next?

The hospitality industry and local businesses will likely monitor the project's progress, anticipating its impact on the local economy and tourism. The inn's unique blend of historical charm and modern luxury may set a new standard for hospitality in the region, influencing future developments.
