Mr. Bennie Frank Scruggs, a resident of Thomaston, passed away at the age of 87 on August 9, 2026. Born on December 26, 1938, Scruggs was a graduate of R. E. Lee Institute and briefly attended Gordon Military College, where he played football. He served
in the United States Air Force from November 1958 to November 1962. Scruggs was of the Baptist faith and is survived by his long-time companion, Carolyn Akins, a daughter, Deborah Exum, a son, Brad Scruggs, and several grandchildren.
