Female soldiers on Ukraine's front lines are testing new body armour designed by a Canadian company to better fit women. Traditionally, servicewomen have been issued standard body armour made for men, which often does not fit properly, leaving them vulnerable.
The Canadian company NP Aerospace has developed curved ballistic plates specifically for women, paired with vest carriers designed by Logistik Unicorp. The U.K. has donated 2,000 sets of this body armour to Ukraine. Ukrainian MP Iryna Nykorak highlights the need for this equipment as the number of women serving in combat roles grows, with over 75,000 women in Ukraine's military, including more than 10,000 in combat roles.
