A kitten, now nicknamed 'Jersey,' miraculously survived an almost 800-mile journey trapped inside the bumper of a college student's car. The feline stowed away in Jadyn Sawyer's vehicle in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, before she drove back to the University
of Georgia in Athens on August 10. Sawyer remained unaware of her furry passenger until she arrived in Athens and spotted the kitten's paw hanging out of the bumper. University police were contacted, who then reached out to Cat Zip Alliance-Campus Cats, a local kitten rescue organization. Rescuers, including a team of mechanics, had to dismantle parts of the car to safely extract the kitten from the vehicle's undercarriage. Despite the ordeal, the 10-week-old kitten was found to be in good health, suffering only from a cold.
