What's Happening?
Hanwha Aerospace has announced plans to upgrade its K9 series of self-propelled howitzers (SPHs), including the development of the K9PL version for Poland. The upgrades will feature a new 58-caliber cannon with an autoloader, increasing range and efficiency. The new SPH will also include advanced systems like a laser beam warning system and unmanned aircraft system jammers. Hanwha plans to offer both tracked and wheeled platforms, with the tracked variant expected to reach initial operating capability by 2027.
