Girl Scouts of Orange County have announced the launch of a new cookie called 'Exploremores,' inspired by rocky road flavors. The cookie features chocolate, marshmallow, and almond-flavored creme. The announcement was made at a tasting event hosted by Andrei’s Restaurant in Irvine. Vikki Shepp, CEO of Girl Scouts of Orange County, expressed pride in the new cookie, which she helped develop. During the event, Girl Scout Tayva Veal was honored with the Girl Scout Lifesaving Award for her heroic actions earlier this year. Veal, a member of Troop 2898, saved a fisherman who had suffered a stroke at Sand City Beach in Monterey. Her quick response and assistance were crucial in saving his life.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of the 'Exploremores' cookie adds a new dimension to the Girl Scouts' cookie lineup, which is a significant fundraising tool for the organization. The cookie sales support various activities and programs that empower young girls. Tayva Veal's recognition highlights the values of courage and community service that the Girl Scouts promote. Her actions serve as an inspiring example of the impact young individuals can have in their communities. The Lifesaving Award is a rare honor, underscoring the significance of Veal's actions and the organization's commitment to recognizing exceptional contributions.

Tayva Veal will be further honored as a community hero at the Lake Forest City Council meeting on October 7. The Girl Scouts will continue to promote their new cookie as they prepare for the upcoming cookie season.
