The Josephine County Historical Society is showcasing the rich history of the county fair, which has been a staple in the region since its official establishment in 1914. The fair, rooted in agricultural and industrial exhibitions from the early 1900s,
has evolved over the years, moving to its current location on Redwood Highway in 1927. Historical photographs reveal various aspects of the fair's past, including a 1930s nighttime shot, a 1950s rodeo exhibition, and a 1959 image of a young 4-H ribbon-winner. The fairgrounds once featured two stone towers at the entrance, which were removed in 1956. The current fair is set to conclude on Sunday, August 2nd.
