What's Happening?
The Federal Government of Somalia, in partnership with UNESCO and UNICEF, is launching a project aimed at building peace through religious education. Funded by the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund, the initiative seeks to enhance social cohesion and resilience
among Somalis by integrating peace-centered pedagogy into early childhood Quranic education. The project will focus on improving and standardizing early childhood Islamic education, integrating peacebuilding pedagogy into religious instruction, and sensitizing community members to support peacebuilding efforts. The project will be implemented in Jubaland and Banadir, with the National Project Officer overseeing day-to-day operations in Somalia.
