What's Happening?
A new senior housing community, the Marisol, has begun construction in Huntington Beach, California. This luxury senior living community will offer 214 units with assisted living and memory care services. Located at the intersection of Main Street and Yorktown
Avenue, the Marisol will feature amenities such as a swimming pool, full bar, and various activities, including boxing. The project, developed by the Bluhm Family Foundation and designed by VTBS Architects, received $252 million in construction financing. It is expected to welcome its first residents in 2028.
Why It's Important?
The development of the Marisol senior housing project addresses the growing need for senior living accommodations in Orange County, where the population of adults aged 65 and older is projected to increase significantly. This project not only provides necessary housing but also enhances the quality of life for seniors by offering a range of amenities and activities. The location near schools allows for intergenerational activities, fostering community engagement. The investment in this project reflects broader trends in real estate and urban planning, focusing on accommodating an aging population while integrating them into the community.
