Ralph Peer II, executive chair of peermusic, has been elected chair of the National Music Publishers’ Association (NMPA) board of directors. Peer succeeds Irwin Z. Robinson, who retired last year. Peer has been a significant figure in the music publishing industry, leading peermusic, a family-owned publisher with 39 offices in 32 countries. His daughter, Mary Megan Peer, is now the CEO, continuing the family legacy. Peer has received numerous awards for his contributions to music publishing, including the NMPA Lifetime Achievement Award.
