Vandebilt Catholic senior Ethan Heney and Barbe junior Jelandon Gray have been named The Sporting News' Louisiana Players of the Week for their outstanding performances in high school football. Heney led his team to a decisive 55-12 victory over Central Lafourche, accumulating 267 total yards and scoring four touchdowns. This achievement has contributed to Vandebilt Catholic's 3-0 record for the second consecutive season. Meanwhile, Gray showcased his skills in a high-scoring game against Lake Charles College Prep, despite his team's 70-65 loss. Gray amassed 456 total yards and seven touchdowns, continuing his impressive streak with 561 passing yards and nine touchdowns over the last two weeks. Heney received 60.41% of the votes for Week 1, while Gray garnered 72.68% of the votes for Week 2.
