Art Basel Qatar is set to move to a new, purpose-built venue on Al Maha Island in Lusail, a city currently under development north of Doha. The groundbreaking for this new site is targeted for 2028, as announced by Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa
Al Thani during a press event in Basel. The renowned architectural firm Herzog & de Meuron is responsible for the master plan of the entire site. This new venue will be part of a mixed-use development designed to accommodate a population of 450,000 and will host exhibitions and events throughout the year.
