What's Happening?
Kempinski Hotels, in collaboration with developer JTRE, has commenced construction on a new hotel and residential project at Grace Bay Beach in Turks and Caicos. The development will feature 119 private
residences and four oceanfront villas, all designed to offer panoramic sea views. Situated on 11 acres of beachfront property, the project aims to integrate Kempinski’s hospitality offerings with residential living, providing a range of amenities for both guests and residents. These include dining venues, a beach club, a wine cellar, a spa, a fitness area, and sports facilities, including tennis and padel courts. Sustainability measures are incorporated into the design, including insulated glass, solar systems, and native landscaping supported by recycled-water systems. The construction, which officially began with a groundbreaking ceremony, is expected to continue through 2026, with completion anticipated by 2028.
Why It's Important?
The Grace Bay development by Kempinski Hotels represents a strategic expansion into the Caribbean market, potentially enhancing the region's appeal to international tourists and investors. By incorporating sustainability measures, the project aligns with global trends towards eco-friendly construction, which could attract environmentally conscious travelers. The development is expected to boost the local economy by creating jobs and increasing tourism revenue. The collaboration between Kempinski Hotels and JTRE, combining European architectural influences with the natural environment of Grace Bay, highlights the project's ambition to offer a unique luxury experience. The involvement of Christie’s International Real Estate and Engel & Völkers in managing sales underscores the project's potential impact on the high-end real estate market.
