What's Happening?
L3Harris Technologies has delivered a VC-25B Bridge aircraft to the US Air Force as part of the modernization of the Air Force One fleet. The aircraft, a transformed Boeing 747-8i, was delivered to Joint Base Andrews in Maryland and will join the Presidential
Airlift Group. This delivery is intended to relieve pressure on the aging VC-25A fleet and ensure the continuity of presidential airlift operations. The VC-25B will undergo commissioning flights to validate its mission capability and finalize protocols for safely transporting the President of the United States. The aircraft was acquired as a gift from the government of Qatar and serves as a temporary solution until the long-term VC-25B enters service in 2028.
