What's Happening?
Fisher German, a consultancy firm, has been appointed to provide land access and valuation services for the H2East hydrogen pipeline project in the UK. This project, led by main contractor Worley, aims to establish a 150km pipeline from Immingham to Newark,
forming a crucial part of the UK's hydrogen infrastructure. Fisher German's Newark and Doncaster teams will offer specialist land rights advice, land referencing services, and landowner management. The pipeline is expected to support power generation, steel, and chemical production across industrial clusters, enabling up to 11 gigawatts of hydrogen production capacity.
Why It's Important?
The H2East pipeline project represents a significant step in the UK's transition to a low-carbon economy, highlighting the growing importance of hydrogen as a clean energy source. By facilitating the transport of hydrogen, the project aims to reduce carbon emissions and support industrial sectors, potentially creating jobs and boosting economic growth. Fisher German's involvement underscores the need for expert land management in large-scale infrastructure projects, ensuring that development is both practical and sensitive to community and environmental concerns.
