What's Happening?
Triad, a B2B platform of Level Education Group, has announced a partnership with the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic Transformation (CCBHC-T) Workforce Accelerator program. This initiative aims to expand the behavioral health workforce in Illinois,
Kansas, and Michigan. The program addresses the critical shortage of mental health professionals, with 137 million people living in areas lacking sufficient services as of last year. The partnership will provide comprehensive licensure exam preparation to clinicians pursuing careers in community-based behavioral health settings. The Workforce Career Accelerator operates as a scholarship-based program, offering financial incentives up to $8,500, along with support including exam fee coverage, peer discussions, and professional development. The program is funded by Ballmer Group through the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, which has a proven track record in advancing community-based care.
Why It's Important?
The partnership between Triad and the CCBHC-T Workforce Accelerator program is crucial in addressing the growing shortage of mental health professionals in the U.S. This shortage impacts access to mental health services, particularly for underserved populations. By expanding the workforce, the initiative aims to improve the delivery of mental health and substance use services. The program supports professionals pursuing licensure in various fields, including clinical social work and substance use counseling, thereby enhancing the capacity of community-based care. This effort is significant in promoting mental wellbeing as a core component of comprehensive health care, ensuring that more individuals receive the necessary support and treatment.
What's Next?
Applications for the first cohort of the Workforce Career Accelerator program close on June 30, 2026. The program will continue to support clinicians beyond licensure, offering unlimited continuing education courses to participants. This ongoing support aims to ensure the long-term success of the behavioral health workforce. As the program progresses, it is expected to strengthen the pipeline of licensed clinicians prepared to serve in high-need areas, ultimately improving access to mental health services across the nation.
