Cecelia Carol Mills, a dedicated educator and community member, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, at the age of 84. Born in Gainesville, NY, Cecelia pursued a career in education after graduating from Buffalo State College with a Bachelor of Science
in Education. She furthered her studies at SUNY Geneseo and dedicated her professional life to teaching home economics and remedial reading in New York schools. Cecelia was actively involved in school musicals, reflecting her passion for music and theatre. Her faith played a significant role in her life as a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist in East Rochester, NY. She was also a member of the Eastern Star chapter in Fillmore, NY. Cecelia's personal life was marked by her marriage to Charles Mills in 1993, with whom she shared a love for boating. She is survived by her husband, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and siblings. A celebration of her life is planned for the spring.
