Ted Mann, a long-time resident of Los Angeles and former resident of Wilmette, Illinois, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, at the age of 79. Born in Chicago, Mann was a prominent figure in the menswear
industry, having owned and managed several clothing stores throughout his career. He was a graduate of Fenger High School and attended Southern Illinois University before returning to Chicago to pursue his career. In 1984, shortly after the birth of his son Ben, Mann was diagnosed with Hairy Cell Leukemia, a rare form of blood cancer. Despite the diagnosis, he demonstrated remarkable resilience, living with the illness for over 40 years. Mann is survived by his wife Paulette and son Ben. A memorial service is scheduled for December 19 at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home in Wilmette, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hairy Cell Leukemia Foundation.
