Harman, a leader in automotive electronics, has announced a significant investment of $42 million to expand its manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune. This expansion will increase the plant's production
capacity by 50% and is expected to create 300 new jobs by 2027. The investment includes an immediate $5.5 million for expansion and an additional $36.5 million over the next three years to enhance telematics and automotive connectivity programs. The facility, which has been operational since 2014, will see its cumulative investment rise to $67 million. The expansion will add 71,505 square feet of built-up area, including a 45,000 square foot production shop floor equipped with new surface-mount technology lines. This facility serves as a global hub for connected car technologies, supplying major Indian OEMs and export customers in Europe and North America.
