Digital travel platform Agoda has reported a significant increase in travel interest between China and Vietnam, following the introduction of new direct flight connections. According to Agoda, Chinese travelers' interest in Vietnam surged by 90% between July and August 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. The new flight routes connect Hanoi with several Chinese cities, including Ningbo, Chengdu, Shanghai, and Xi'an, enhancing travel convenience. Vietnam's National Statistics Office noted that China was the leading source market for international arrivals to Vietnam in August 2025, accounting for a quarter of all inbound visitors. Vietnamese interest in traveling to China also rose, with searches up 50% year-on-year for the same period.
