Orient Express has inaugurated a new hotel in Venice, located in the restored Palazzo Donà Giovannelli in the Cannaregio district. This opening follows an extensive eight-year restoration of the 15th-century building, which was originally constructed
in 1436. The palazzo, attributed to Filippo Calendario, features a façade similar to the Palazzo Ducale and includes seven Gothic windows overlooking the Rio de Noale. The restoration, led by architect Aline Asmar d'Amman, preserved original frescoes, mosaic floors, and the building's Neo-Gothic and Baroque architectural elements. The hotel offers 47 rooms and suites, including six signature suites and apartments with canal views. Facilities include a fine dining restaurant, a Wagon Bar inspired by rail travel, and a lobby bar. This property is the second Orient Express hotel in Italy, following the opening of Orient Express La Minerva in Rome.
