The Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation has allocated $4.8 million to support clinical cancer researchers. This funding includes awards to six new Damon Runyon Clinical Investigators and continuation
grants for three existing Clinical Investigators. Each new investigator will receive $600,000 over three years, with the foundation also offering to retire up to $100,000 of medical school debt. The continuation grants provide an additional two years of funding, totaling $400,000 each. These awards are designed to support early-career physician-scientists conducting patient-oriented cancer research at major U.S. research centers.
