What's Happening?
The Prefect Council at Harvard-Westlake School hosted a Winter Market on December 16, featuring 18 student-run booths. The event, held on the Quad during lunch, allowed students to sell homemade goods
such as treats, clothing, pottery, candles, and crafts. Junior Prefect Charlotte Im highlighted the importance of the event in fostering community bonding amidst a busy academic year. Participants like Yamile Maxil-Gomez, who sold crochet stuffed animals, and Kayla Kim, who ran a matcha bar, shared their experiences of engaging with peers and learning about entrepreneurship. The market also included a booth by the Opioid Awareness Support Intervention Society (OASIS), which sold baked goods to support care packages for the homeless.
