What's Happening?
The Kafala Foundation, in collaboration with the Agriculture Department of Azad Kashmir, has launched a model agri-farm project in Siracha aimed at empowering local farmers and transforming barren lands
into productive agricultural sites. Deputy Director of Agriculture Azad Kashmir, Mubashir Saif, highlighted the project's potential to provide affordable, quality vegetables to surrounding communities, thereby enhancing economic self-sufficiency. The initiative includes interest-free loans provided to eight selected individuals to improve their agricultural activities without financial burden. Additionally, seeds for kitchen gardening were distributed, sourced from Ayub Research Institute, to promote household-level vegetable cultivation. The project is part of a broader effort to develop a comprehensive Agri-Village Development Plan, offering farmers guidance on effective land use.
