What's Happening?
Wish of a Lifetime from AARP is organizing trips for dozens of veterans to visit Washington, D.C., to see memorials dedicated to their service. The initiative, which includes programs like Voyage of Valor and Journey of Heroes, aims to honor veterans from various
military branches and eras, including World War II and the Vietnam War. The trips are designed to be more than just visits; they include community events and luncheons in the veterans' hometowns, culminating in the journey to the nation's capital. Veterans will visit significant sites such as the Lincoln Memorial and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The program is supported by partnerships with organizations like the Collette Foundation and the Vital Life Foundation, and it emphasizes community involvement and support for veterans.
