Over 15,000 popular children's squishy toys have been recalled in the U.S. due to a potentially deadly water bead hazard. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued two recalls: one for Squeezy Dumplings from GIHNJSI and another for Rainbow
Mystery Squishy Buns from OKK Trading. Both products contain water beads that can expand significantly if ingested, posing ingestion, choking, and intestinal obstruction hazards, which can lead to severe discomfort, vomiting, dehydration, and even death in children. These toys violate mandatory federal safety standards because the water beads exceed the allowable size after expansion. Approximately 8,000 Squeezy Dumplings were sold online via Amazon, and about 7,200 Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun Toys were sold at various third-party stores nationwide. No injuries have been reported in connection with these specific recalls so far.
