What's Happening?
Cecil College recently celebrated the graduation of its 2026 Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) class with a White Coat Pinning Ceremony at the Technology Center on its North East campus. This event marked the completion of the academic and clinical training
for students in the college's accredited PTA program. The program, which began in January 2015, received a full 10-year accreditation in October 2021 due to its strong long-term outcomes. Dr. Nancy Norman-Marzella, dean of health, human and business sciences at Cecil College, highlighted the graduates' commitment to patient care and professional excellence. The program boasts a 100% pass rate on the National Physical Therapy Exam and a 100% employment rate, attributed to strong clinical partnerships with regional physical therapy providers.
Why It's Important?
The success of Cecil College's PTA graduates is significant in the context of a growing demand for rehabilitation and mobility-care professionals across the healthcare industry. The program's high pass and employment rates underscore the effectiveness of its curriculum and the dedication of its faculty. This success not only enhances the college's reputation but also contributes to addressing the national shortage of qualified physical therapy assistants. Graduates entering the workforce are well-prepared to meet the needs of healthcare providers, thereby improving patient care and outcomes. The program's achievements may serve as a model for other institutions aiming to improve their healthcare training programs.
What's Next?
Cecil College plans to open the next application cycle for its Physical Therapist Assistant program in July 2026. As the demand for skilled healthcare professionals continues to rise, the college is likely to maintain its rigorous standards and strong partnerships to ensure continued success. Future graduates will benefit from the program's established reputation and the ongoing support of faculty and clinical partners. The college's commitment to high educational standards and student success is expected to attract more applicants, further strengthening its position as a leader in healthcare education.
