What's Happening?
The European Commission has approved a $92 million grant for the third phase of the FAMOUS project, led by Patria, under the European Defence Fund. This phase focuses on enhancing European ground combat capabilities through the development of all-terrain
and light armoured vehicles. The project aims to maximize synergy, standardization, and interoperability while reducing lifecycle costs. The initiative, which began in 2021, involves 20 countries and over 50 European defense companies. The current phase will elevate technologies to a Technology Readiness Level 8, with serial production of the Patria TRACKX vehicle scheduled for 2027.
