Rachael Walsh has been appointed as the first executive director of Better Block SGF, a nonprofit organization focused on community-centered revitalization in Springfield. Walsh, who began her role on March 9, brings nearly a decade of experience in nonprofit leadership,
having previously served as vice president of development at Care to Learn and spent seven years at United Way of the Ozarks. Her expertise includes fundraising, strategic planning, marketing, communications, volunteer engagement, and systems development. Walsh has been a member of the Better Block SGF board of directors since January 2025. In her new role, she will oversee the organization’s strategic direction, daily operations, and community partnerships, working alongside board members, volunteers, community leaders, and stakeholders to expand the organization's impact.
