What's Happening?
ScienceAbroad, a nonprofit organization based in Israel, is working to address the emigration of thousands of Israeli physicians and scientists who have left the country. The organization seeks to leverage
the expertise of senior Israeli scientists living abroad by fostering connections with local communities and international scientists. This initiative aims to inspire these professionals to return to Israel, thereby strengthening the country's scientific and medical sectors. The effort is led by Nadav Douani, CEO of ScienceAbroad, and Dr. Lior Shaltiel, CEO of NurExone Biologic, who are actively engaging with the diaspora to encourage their return.
Why It's Important?
The emigration of skilled professionals poses a significant challenge to Israel's scientific and medical industries, potentially impacting innovation and healthcare quality. By encouraging the return of these experts, ScienceAbroad aims to bolster Israel's position as a leader in scientific research and medical advancements. The initiative not only seeks to enhance the country's intellectual capital but also to foster international collaboration and knowledge exchange. Successfully repatriating these professionals could lead to increased research opportunities, improved healthcare services, and a more robust scientific community in Israel.
