The public has chosen the name 'Marlcombe' for a new 8,000-home town to be developed on the outskirts of Exeter, Devon. More than 1,600 people participated in the vote, selecting from four options. Marlcombe, which appeared on 17th-century tithe maps, received 930 votes, surpassing other contenders like Newton Clyst and Willowcrest.
