What's Happening?
Aurrigo International plc has introduced its Auto-Shuttle® Mk2, a winter-ready autonomous shuttle, at Kanata Business Park in Ottawa. This marks the debut of Canada's first all-season, medium-speed autonomous shuttle built
on a commercialized platform. The eight-seater, fully electric vehicle is designed to operate in challenging Canadian weather conditions, including snow and ice. It features real-time American Sign Language stop announcements, enhancing accessibility. The shuttle will operate along a 4.5km route with eight designated stops, connecting businesses, restaurants, and transit points. This initiative, in collaboration with the Kanata North Business Association and Invest Ottawa’s Area X.O, aims to advance road safety, accessibility, and sustainability, positioning Kanata North as a national testbed for smart mobility solutions.
