What's Happening?
Freire Shipyard has launched the A22 Proserpina, a new diving support vessel for the Armada Logistics Support Command. The vessel, built in Vigo, Spain, is designed to enhance underwater operations and training capabilities for the Spanish Navy. It features
advanced technologies for fuel efficiency and emission reduction, including a dynamic positioning system and a three-anchor mooring system. The vessel is equipped with side-scan sonar, autonomous underwater vehicles, and remotely operated vehicles for deep-sea exploration. It will support the Spanish Navy Diving School in complex underwater missions, replacing the veteran Proserpina and contributing to the modernization of naval auxiliary units.
