The Shasta County Office of Education has announced the opening of nominations for the 2027 Shasta County Teacher of the Year award. This initiative aims to recognize outstanding educators within the county. A committee, including a member from the Shasta County Board
of Education and local administrators, will review the submissions. The nomination process requires a completed form signed by the nominee, a one-page statement from the nominee’s administrator, and two one-page letters of recognition. The deadline for nominations is April 23, 2026. The selected finalists will have the opportunity to compete at the state level, with site visits scheduled in May to determine which nominee will proceed to the California State Teacher of the Year application.
