GE Aerospace has signed a significant contract with Emirates, a Dubai-based airline, for 130 additional GE9X engines. These engines are intended for installation on 65 Boeing 777-9 aircraft, increasing
Emirates' total order of GE9X engines to over 540 units. The GE9X engine, used exclusively on the Boeing 777X series, offers a 10% improvement in specific fuel consumption compared to its predecessor, the GE90-115B, and features advanced emissions technology. This agreement also includes spare engines and a long-term servicing contract. Emirates, already the largest operator of Boeing 777s, is expanding its fleet with additional orders worth $38 billion for Boeing 777-9s and GE9X engines.
